Live Earth Concerts Reach More Than 10 Million Online
A landmark audience of viewers from around the world united at MSN.com to experience the Live Earth concerts and to confront the threat of global warming. By midday, MSN had received a total of more than 10 million video streams and had the most simultaneous viewers of any online concert ever.
On-demand footage of all performances, along with artist interviews, backstage footage, easy searching capabilities for specific songs, artists and more, will be available from all eight official concerts at LiveEarth.MSN.com for the next several weeks.
EarthLab.com's first-ever carbon calculator providing carbon footprint and ECP scores to consumers worldwide was introduced prior to the Live Earth shows, and was featured on the Live Earth website. Specially created for Live Earth, the "Live Impact" Environmental Conservation Plan (ECP) Carbon and Lifestyle Calculator displays impact activities with the relevant reduction tips.
Live Earth's 24 hours of music across 7 continents marked the beginning of a multi-year campaign to drive individuals, corporations and governments to take action to solve the climate crisis. Live Earth is partnering with the Alliance for Climate Protection, The Climate Group, EarthLab.com, Stop Climate Chaos and other international organizations in this ongoing effort. Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, a worldwide executive producer of the Live 8 concert series in 2005, and is supported by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.
